Job summary

Mastermold LLC in Wisconsin seeks a Paint Process Engineer to own, stabilize, and improve paint and coating operations. This role builds robust processes that run right the first time, every time on the factory floor.

You will define standards, optimize settings, run DOE trials, support PPAPs, and collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to reduce defects and improve yield.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field relevant to paints/coatings.
  • Direct experience with industrial painting or coating operations.
  • Strong mindset for data-driven process improvement and standardization.
  • Ability to operate on the production floor and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Excel and basic data analysis for reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain paint process standards (parameters, recipes, and work instructions).
  • Define and optimize gun settings, atomizing air, film build targets, oven profiles, and line speeds.
  • Build and maintain control plans, standardized work, and process check sheets.
  • Lead structured problem-solving for paint defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Plan and run DOE for new colors, coatings, or products; support PPAPs.
