Job summary

Magnit Direct Sourcing on behalf of Toyota is seeking an Engineer - Paint Materials for a 12-month contract in Georgetown, Kentucky. The role focuses on evaluating new color paint trials and material technologies to reduce costs and improve performance.

Responsibilities include leading color/material introductions, establishing process controls, solving materials-related issues, and evaluating environmental impacts for informed decisions.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• BS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, etc.
• Proficient summarizing data and creating charts in Excel, building presentations in PowerPoint.
• Experience leading multiple projects with cross-functional coordination.
• Experience identifying root causes and applying countermeasures.
• Experience presenting reports to management levels.
• 1+ year evaluating color and appearance of painted surfaces.
• 1+ year of paint lab workability evaluations.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays and travel up to 30%.
• TBP completed through panel; SME or internal auditor for QR/QS/QH process.

Responsibilities

• Lead new color & material introductions to facilities from lab to production approval.
• Establish process controls for new materials/technologies and align cross-functional teams.
• Lead materials-related problem solving across divisions and apply TBP methods.
• Assess environmental impacts and quantify cost/benefit for decision makers.
• Support Paint department Hoshin objectives.
