Job summary

Hunter Engineering Company in Raymond, MS is seeking an NC Operator on the 3rd shift (11pm–7am, Mon–Fri). You will read specs, set up tools, run CNC programs, and inspect parts to ensure quality. This family-owned, American-made leader offers solid benefits and opportunities for growth.

Starting rate is 28.15/hour with a 100% shift differential. You must have a high school diploma, basic math skills, ability to lift 50 lbs, and proficiency with AS400 and Microsoft tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add/subtract/multiply/divide) in all units.
• Experience operating CNC or manual machines is a plus.
• AS400 and Microsoft tools proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and sequence.
• Set up tools and punches as per setup sheets.
• Monitor machine operation and detect defects or malfunctions.
• Measure dimensions with calipers, micrometer, and ruler to ensure accuracy.
• Engage CNC program to start cutting or punching; troubleshoot as needed.
• Move materials onto machines and read blueprints for specs.
• Maintain tools and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Follow safety rules and work overtime as required.
• May train other operators.

Hunter offers 2815 as the starting rate with 100 shift differential and opportunities for advancement in level and pay This position is for our 3rd shift 11pm 7am Monday Friday

What Youll Do

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments material requirements quantity and job sequence
• Manually sets tools and punches as specified by setup sheets
• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
• Measures work piece dimensions with the use of ruler templates calipers square tape measure and micrometer to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Engages program to begin cutting or punching holes in material
• Manually lifts material onto machine
• Reads blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions tolerances and tooling instructions
• CNC programming required to set machine up including but not limited to changing specifications and troubleshooting
• Maintains tools in proper location and condition including assembly sharpening and critical visual inspection
• Inspects work pieces before use to eliminate damaged pieces and after use to ensure high quality
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines dies or work pieces
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as an extension to a normal workday or on weekends as scheduled
• Observe and follow all safety rules
• Must work cohesively with machine operators maintenance and others
• Must be proficient in AS400 and Microsoft applications
• May train other operators
• Additional duties as assigned

What Youll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have the ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
• Must be able to operate a crane previous forklift experience is highly preferred
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; ability to walk climb balance stoop kneel or crouch
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and peripheral vision
• Manual dexterity in hands for various tool usage
