Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville is seeking a Quality-focused assembler to produce components for OEM and SCAG products. You will assemble parts, load/unload from the paint line, and ensure quality standards with proper PPE.

You will follow blueprints and instructions, maintain documentation, and collaborate with team members across departments to meet production goals in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have prior experience in paint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate with other departments.
  • Aptitude to take orders and execute efficiently.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task.
  • Good finger and hand dexterity.
  • Basic knowledge in blueprints reading and torque values.
  • Previous experience in a highly technical environment with light electrical assembly and/or heavy equipment assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm job order and material selections; report shortages.
  • Tape and mask parts as required for coating.
  • Hang parts on conveyer with uniform spacing for cleaning and painting.
  • Assist with desk assembly on line and assemble tread plates when needed.
  • Remove parts from racks after oven cure.
  • Inspect coated parts for coating thickness using gauges.
  • Maintain paint hooks and organize area; perform PPE safety checks.
  • Fill out and manage production and quality documentation as required.
  • Follow instructions to package parts to avoid damage in proper containers.
  • Follow company rules, policies and safety regulations.
  • Report quality concerns to line leader, manager or QC department.
  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists.
  • Position parts using templates or measurements; assemble components securely.
  • Resolve assembly problems by adjusting dimensions and notifying supervisor.

Job description

Overview

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, this positions primary responsibilities are to produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies for OEM and SCAG product and loading and unloading parts from the paint line. This person may perform quality issues and notify supervisor and/or resolve quality issues. Team work, housekeeping and organizing is important for this role. Availability on 1st Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Confirm job order and material selections. Report any packaging shortages.

  • Tape and mask parts as required for coating.

  • Use correct hangers to hang parts correctly on conveyer. Hang parts uniform for cleaning and powder painting.

  • Assist with desk assembly on line and assemble tread plates, when needed

  • Remove parts from racks after oven cure.

  • Inspect coated parts for coating thickness using approved gauges.

  • Keep paint hooks clean and in good working order; organize the area as needed.

  • Responsible for filling out and managing all production, and quality documentation as required.

  • Rack fenders with material handler when unloading line.

  • Follow instructions to package parts to avoid damage in proper containers and on proper racks.

  • Follow all company rules, policies and regulations.

  • Report quality concerns to line leader, manager or QC department.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, using proper PPE and load weight limitations.

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

  • Other duties as assigned.
