Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Powder Painter on 1st shift to apply powder paint to production parts. The role requires powder application knowledge and the ability to work in a technically demanding environment.

The successful candidate will operate manual powder gun equipment, perform color changes, follow the powder room coordinator's directions, and maintain a clean, dust-free workspace while supporting other paint department tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Powder coating experience required.
  • Ability to read basic prints and apply torque values.
  • Two years powder application experience unless promoted within department.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Apply powder with manual powder gun.
  • Troubleshoot powder application equipment.
  • Perform color changes on automatic powder equipment.
  • Follow powder room coordinator directions for applying powder in specific areas.
  • Maintain a dust-free, organized workspace and good housekeeping.
  • Support other paint department tasks as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the line as required.
  • Report quality issues or deviations promptly.

Overview

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the Powder Painter is primarily responsible for applying powder paint on production parts. Must have powder application knowledge. May be required to help in other production operations within the department. Must be able to perform all task of Paint tech 3 position. Good housekeeping and organizational skills are an essential part of this role. This position is highly technical and good team working skills are needed. Availability on 1st Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Apply powder with manual powder gun application
  • Troubleshooting skills of powder application is needed for this position
  • Must have good knowledge of cleaning powder equipment for color changes.
  • Perform color changes on automatic powder application equipment.
  • Follow direction of powder room coordinator on how to apply powder in certain areas of parts.
  • Willing to advance skills through out powder application process.
  • Good housekeeping and organization skills are needed for this assignment. Room should be dust free
  • May perform tasks of a Tech 3 role.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required on the line.
  • Report any issue on bad racking or needed improvement that will affect quality.
  • Mark product that has any defect to make sure it is not passed onto our customers.
  • Work over time to support customer demands or perform preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.
  • Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Basic Print reading and torque values.
  • Have 2 years experience with powder application unless promoted with in department.
  • Basic Computer Knowledge.
  • High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from is accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to help in ALL areas of the paint department when needed
