Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville is seeking a Powder Painter for the West Bend facility on the 1st shift. The role focuses on applying powder paint to production parts, troubleshooting powder application, and performing color changes on automatic equipment.

Strong teamwork, cleanliness, and safety practices are essential, with flexibility to assist in other paint department tasks. The position requires at least 2 years of powder application experience, good communication, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.
  • Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
  • Knowledge of basic print reading and torque values.
  • Have 2 years experience with powder application unless promoted within department.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to help in ALL areas of the paint department when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Apply powder with manual powder gun application.
  • Troubleshooting skills of powder application.
  • Clean powder equipment for color changes.
  • Perform color changes on automatic powder application equipment.
  • Follow directions from the powder room coordinator for applying powder.
  • Willing to advance skills through the powder application process.
  • Maintain dust-free work area with good housekeeping.
  • May perform tasks of a Tech 3 role.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on the line.
  • Report issues affecting quality or efficiency.
  • Mark defective product to prevent customer impact.
  • Work overtime to support customer demands or preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Powder Painter - West Bend

Job Locations: US-WI-West Bend

Overview

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the Powder Painter is primarily responsible for applying powder paint on production parts. Must have powder application knowledge. May be required to help in other production operations within the department. Must be able to perform all task of Paint tech 3 position. Good housekeeping and organizational skills are an essential part of this role. This position is highly technical and good team working skills are needed. Availability on 1st Shift.

Responsibilities
  • Apply powder with manual powder gun application
  • Troubleshooting skills of powder application is needed for this position
  • Must have good knowledge of cleaning powder equipment for color changes.
  • Perform color changes on automatic powder application equipment.
  • Follow direction of powder room coordinator on how to apply powder in certain areas of parts.
  • Willing to advance skills through out powder application process.
  • Good housekeeping and organization skills are needed for this assignment. Room should be dust free
  • May perform tasks of a Tech 3 role.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required on the line.
  • Report any issue on bad racking or needed improvement that will affect quality.
  • Mark product that has any defect to make sure it is not passed onto our customers.
  • Work over time to support customer demands or perform preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
