Job summary

CSP Composite seeks an Experienced Controls Engineer to advance paint-department controls in our Ohio manufacturing facility. You will design, implement, and upgrade PLC logic, automation, and process controls for improved uptime and efficiency.

Responsibilities include PLC programming, data acquisition, safety system enhancements, and collaboration with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams on continuous improvement initiatives. On-site role with industry-leading benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of engineering or controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Automotive or Tier 1 supplier experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Improve design, robustness, and process control of paint department operations.
• Lead equipment, automation, and control panel upgrades within the paint area.
• Integrate conveyor control systems with paint robots and related automation.
• Improve data acquisition systems to enhance production reporting, downtime tracking, and performance metrics.
• Implement safety device upgrades and logic changes to support zone safety systems and regulatory compliance.
• Upgrade networking and communications infrastructure to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Develop, modify, and optimize PLC logic to increase uptime and throughput.
• Provide technical support to Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for continuous improvement.
• Support troubleshooting of paint equipment, automation, and control systems to minimize production interruptions.
• Participate in capital projects, equipment installations, and process launches.
• Ensure changes comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
