Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner must have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current license to practice in VA and/or MD.
• Active VA or MD license required.
• Previous experience in pain management or orthopedics preferred.
• Excellent clinical skills including assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examination of patients presenting with pain-related concerns.
• Reviewing patient’s medical history.
• Administer and monitor medication management for pain relief following established protocols.
• Consult with other providers before deciding on a therapy or treatment program.
• Use pain management knowledge to find effective non-invasive treatment options.
• Perform joint injections.
• Provide patient education on pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
• Stay updated with advancements in pain management through continuous learning.

The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner duties include but not limited to

• Conduct thorough physical examination of patients presenting with pain-related concerns;
• Reviewing Patient's Medical History
• Administer and monitor medication management for pain relief, following established protocols and guidelines;
• Consulting with other providers before deciding on a therapy or treatment program to help patients manage their pain;
• Using knowledge and pain management skills to find effective non-invasive treatment options;
• Performing joint injections;
• Provide patient education on pian management techniques, lifestyle modifications and self-care strategies;
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients;
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of pain management through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications

• Active VA or MD license;
• Previous experience in the field of pain management is preferred;
• Excellent clinical skills, including physical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, demonstrating a high level of autonomy in decision-making.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
