Job summary

Advanced Spine and Pain Centers in Virginia and Maryland is seeking a certified Physician Assistant to join our pain management team. Candidates with experience in pain management and orthopedics are preferred, and you must hold an active VA and/or MD license.

Responsibilities include patient exams, medication management, coordinating with providers, performing joint injections where indicated, and educating patients on pain-management strategies.

Qualifications

• Active VA and/or MD license.
• Certified Physician Assistant with pain management experience preferred.
• Experience in orthopedics is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients with pain concerns.
• Administer and monitor pain-management medication per protocols.
• Consult with other providers before deciding on a therapy or treatment plan.
• Explore non-invasive treatment options when appropriate.
• Perform joint injections where clinically indicated.
• Educate patients on pain management techniques and self-care.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
• Stay updated with pain-management research and best practices.

Advanced Spine and Pain Centers is seeking a certified Physician Assistant for our Virginia/ Maryland offices.

Candidates with previous experience in pain management and/or orthopedics are highly desirable.

Physician Assistant Requirements: must have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current license to practice in the State of Virginia/ Maryland.

The Pain Management Physician Assistant duties include but not limited to:

• Conduct thorough physical examination of patients presenting with pain-related concerns;

Reviewing Patient's Medical History

• Administer and monitor medication management for pain relief, following established protocols and guidelines;
• Consulting with other providers before deciding on a therapy or treatment program to help patients manage their pain;
• Using knowledge and pain management skills to find effective non-invasive treatment options;
• Performing joint injections;
• Provide patient education on pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications and self-care strategies;
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients;
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of pain management through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications

• Active VA and/or MD license;
• Previous experience in the field of pain management is preferred;
• Excellent clinical skills, including physical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, demonstrating a high level of autonomy in decision-making.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
