Job summary

Advanced Spine and Pain Centers in Virginia and Maryland is seeking a certified Physician Assistant to join our offices. Candidates with pain management and/or orthopedics experience are highly desirable.

Requirements include graduating from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a current license to practice in Virginia or Maryland. The role involves exams, medication management, and patient education within a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• Active VA and/or MD license.
• Previous experience in pain management is preferred.
• Excellent clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and planning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations of patients with pain-related concerns.
• Administer and monitor pain management medications following protocols.
• Consult with other providers and consider non-invasive options when appropriate.
• Perform joint injections and educate patients on pain management techniques.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.

The Pain Management Physician Assistant duties include but not limited to:

• Conduct thorough physical examination of patients presenting with pain-related concerns;

Reviewing Patient's Medical History

• Administer and monitor medication management for pain relief, following established protocols and guidelines;
• Consulting with other providers before deciding on a therapy or treatment program to help patients manage their pain;
• Using knowledge and pain management skills to find effective non-invasive treatment options;
• Performing joint injections;
• Provide patient education on pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications and self-care strategies;
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients;
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of pain management through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications
