Job summary

Midwest Pain Clinics in Omaha, NE is seeking a Medical Assistant/Scribe for Pain Management to support providers in an outpatient setting and gain hands-on experience in clinical care and documentation. You will prepare patients, take histories and vitals, document records, assist with exams and procedures, and help manage schedules and inventory while upholding HIPAA standards.

The role offers a Monday-Thursday schedule with half-day Friday, no weekends, and a competitive benefits package

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of medical assistant or medical scribe experience required.
• Must be familiar with medical terminology and have excellent typing skills.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred; certification requirements may vary based on clinic needs.
• Previous pain management, orthopedic, or spine experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for appointments by obtaining histories, vital signs, and other clinical information.
• Document relevant patient information and assist with accurate medical records.
• Prepare examination and procedure rooms for patient visits.
• Support providers during examinations and in-office procedures.
• Administer medications under appropriate physician supervision.
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure care and patient transfers.
• Coordinate appointments, follow-ups, and waitlist activity.
• Complete patient check-in and verify demographic and medical information.
• Monitor inventory and ensure clinical areas remain properly stocked.
• Provide a professional and compassionate experience for patients and their families.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Complete required training and other assigned responsibilities.
