Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK seeks a Day shift, full-time Pain Management Medical Assistant (MA). The role supports physicians with patient care and clinic workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include EMR data entry, patient greeting, vital signs, room preparation, and coordinating referrals while maintaining inventory and office tasks. BLS due within 14 days; MA education is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic EMR and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Patient visit support that may include greeting patients, escorting them to the exam room, taking vital signs, and gathering other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the visit and recommended treatment.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments; ensures patient exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients; provides patients with privacy, comfort, safety, and hygiene.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments, and equipment for all exam rooms.
• Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
• Addresses and requests referrals and other insurance authorizations in addition to passing along patient information for prescription, X‑ray, or lab requisitions to necessary parties, including calls to pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.
