Externs work alongside experienced veterinary teams, gaining mentorship and hands-on exposure to clinical medicine, client communication, and clinic operations, with flexibility to align with academic requirements and career goals.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a 3rd or 4th year AVMA-accredited DVM student.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Carry professional liability insurance (AVMA PLIT) as required; coverage with AVMA is suggested.

Responsibilities

• Small animal general practice medicine and surgery exposure.
• Client communication and case management.
• Collaboration with technicians and support staff.
• Exposure to clinic operations and team leadership.
• Mentorship from practicing veterinarians.
