Job summary

Werner Enterprises is offering an 11-week paid summer internship as an Intermodal Sales Intern. You’ll work with our commercial team across Final Mile and Intermodal, supporting growth initiatives, market research, and go‑to‑market strategies.

You’ll gain exposure to inside and outside sales, Salesforce, Tableau, and cross-functional collaboration while presenting findings to leaders at the internship’s end.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with outside sales professionals to identify and pursue growth opportunities within Final Mile and Intermodal.
• Research new industries, customer segments, and markets to identify opportunities for growth.
• Support prospecting and lead generation, including research and outreach tracking results.
• Evaluate GTM strategy and market position and develop recommendations to grow market share.
• Participate in rotational training across key commercial areas.
• Learn how Salesforce CRM supports sales activity, pipeline, reporting and decision making.
• Use Salesforce and Tableau to analyze sales data and identify insights.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Account Management, Operations on strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer experience.
• Support ad hoc analysis and summer projects.
• Present findings to leaders at internship end.
