Job summary

Prairie State Generating Company offers a paid summer internship in communications for college students to gain hands-on experience in the energy industry. The program provides exposure to industry professionals and real-world projects within a collaborative office setting.

Responsibilities include drafting internal and external communications, composing articles from interviews, developing PR materials, and assisting with events.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college degree program and will have completed their freshman year.
• Must have a GPA of at least 3.0.
• Preferred majors: public relations, marketing, journalism and/or communications.
• Must be available for a 12-week program beginning in Late-May to Mid-August.

Responsibilities

• Drafting internal and external communications, including social media posts
• Composing articles using information gathered in interviews
• Developing public relations materials (such as newsletters, infographics, videos, etc.)
• Planning and assisting with company events and initiatives
• Supporting human resource functions as they relate to organization and communication
• Other duties as assigned
