Overview

Prairie State Generating Company is looking for college students who are interested in a summer intern program in communications, within the energy industry. This paid internship program will provide students with hands‑on training, industry experience, and exposure to industry professionals.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drafting internal and external communications, including social media posts
  • Composing articles using information gathered in interviews
  • Developing public relations materials (such as newsletters, infographics, videos, etc.)
  • Planning and assisting with company events and initiatives
  • Supporting human resource functions as they relate to organization and communication
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

  • To be considered, an individual MUST be enrolled in a college degree program and will have completed their freshman year of college.
  • Must be in good academic standing, with at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Preferred majors of study include: public relations, marketing, journalism and/or communications.
  • MUST be available for a 12-week program beginning in Late‑May to Mid‑August.

  • Exposed to industrial safety hazards occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits

At Prairie State, the base pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this role is $25.00 per hour Undergraduate level and $28.00 per hour Graduate level.
