Job summary

Commonpoint Queens is offering a structured paid summer program, the Summer College and Career Intensive (SCCI). Participants will be placed in supervised youth development or childcare-related sites while enrolled in a CUNY college-level course, gaining hands-on work experience and professional training.

Participants report to site supervisors and program staff, adhering to all guidelines and onboarding requirements, with a pay rate of $17 per hour for approximately 15 hours of work weekly plus

Qualifications

• Must be a High School graduate and enrolled in a CUNY youth development course.
• Must meet program eligibility requirements and complete onboarding documentation.
• Interest in youth development, education, childcare, or related fields preferred.
• Ability to commit to a structured work and academic schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties within supervised youth development or childcare-related work placement.
• Complete approximately 15 hours per week of work-based responsibilities.
• Attend and actively participate in a CUNY youth development college-level course (≈5 hours/week).
• Maintain consistent attendance for all shifts, classes, and trainings.
• Submit accurate timesheets and required documentation.
• Maintain professional conduct in all worksite, academic, and program settings.
• Communicate promptly with program staff regarding attendance, performance, or scheduling concerns.
• Comply with all program policies, procedures, and workplace standards.
