Job summary

Avista’s SDP is a paid summer internship program for electrical, civil, mechanical or other engineering students to enhance their field of study and gain valuable work experience in the utility sector. Students will be mentored, take part in learning sessions, and join SDP tours of Avista facilities including hydroelectric dams.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or other engineering discipline.
• Full-time enrollment for 2027-2028 academic year.
• Electrical engineering majors with power-related focus is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on engineering projects across Avista's departments.
• Be assigned a formal mentor and participate in learning sessions.
• On-site presence at Avista's Spokane, WA headquarters.
