Job summary

Advocate Health is offering a remote internship in the Enterprise Corporate - People & Culture Workforce Development. The 2027 summer internship runs May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027, with up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

You will gain experience in finance, cost accounting, budgeting, and revenue cycle projects, using Excel to automate processes and analyze charges. Open to students in finance/accounting with junior or senior standing; no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a regional accredited college or university.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency with Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated processes in Excel to minimize manual work.
• Review and analyze discrepancies in charges and implement necessary changes.
• Prepare financial and statistical analyses and extract data patterns.
• Develop cost accounting standards and perform variance analysis.
• Maintain procedural prices using costing methods and market data.
• Prepare and monitor operating and capital budgets.
• Support budgeting, finance, cost accounting, and reporting areas.
• Apply government program rules and reimbursement information to financial activities.
• Assist with charge reconciliation and revenue cycle projects.
• Track and update reports and provide administrative support.
• Participate in program development and research internal financial questions.
