Job summary

Cache Valley Electric is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience in electrical construction and project management. You will work with Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, and field teams to learn the full project lifecycle from preconstruction to closeout.

You will assist with drawings, RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, and cost tracking while gaining exposure to field operations and project meetings.

Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative on assigned tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Comfort working in both office and active construction-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with day-to-day project activities.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Prepare, track, and maintain RFIs and submittals.
• Coordinate project documentation between office and field.
• Assist with material and equipment procurement, tracking, and delivery.
• Participate in project planning, coordination, and progress meetings.
• Monitor project milestones, schedules, and cost tracking as needed.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and estimating tasks.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and other project partners.
• Visit active construction sites to gain hands-on exposure to field operations.
