Job summary

Cache Valley Electric is looking for a Project Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience in electrical construction and project management on active projects in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will work with project managers, engineers, superintendents, and field teams to understand day-to-day operations.

You’ll learn the full project lifecycle—from preconstruction to closeout—while developing technical, leadership, and communication skills in a safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a relevant degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and contribute.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with day-to-day project activities.
• Work closely with project management, field supervision, and other members of the project team.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
• Assist with preparing, tracking, and maintaining RFIs and submittals.
• Help coordinate project documentation between the office and field.
• Assist with material and equipment procurement, tracking, and delivery coordination.
• Participate in project planning, coordination, and progress meetings.
• Gain exposure to project schedules and assist with tracking milestones and deadlines.
• Learn how project costs, budgets, change orders, and forecasts are managed.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and other estimating or project-related tasks as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other project partners.
• Visit active construction areas and gain firsthand exposure to field operations.
