Job summary

You will engage in communication with staff, apply engineering technology principles, perform equipment maintenance, and maintain daily project records while developing problem-solving abilities in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an Associate’s degree program or higher.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles.
• Must be at least 18 years old by start of employment.
• Maintain full-time graduate status taking 9+ credits per semester before and following internship.
• Maintain full-time undergraduate status taking 12+ credits per semester before and following internship.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with VDOT staff and external contacts; proactively resolve issues at the lowest level.
• Apply principles of engineering technology to assigned program areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on testing equipment.
• Project documentation: prepare and maintain daily documentation of project activities.
• Record keeping: maintain accurate records for all project activities and meet deadlines.
