Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington offers a paid Nurse Extern II externship in collaboration with approved nursing programs. Eligible students enrolled at BCTC Leestown Campus, EKU BSN, or Morehead BSN may participate, with practicum hours set up and overseen by the nursing programs and Baptist Health Lexington.

The program aims to provide additional clinical experience and a pathway to full-time staff nursing after graduation and licensure. Apply by October 30, 2026.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a board-approved pre-licensure nursing program with transcript
• Must have successfully completed clinical coursework to achieve senior-level standing

Responsibilities

• Complete onboarding and employee health requirements for Baptist Health Lexington.
• Attend 1-week paid orientation prior to starting senior semester.
• Complete school practicum.
• Transition to Nurse Extern II following practicum and continue two 12-hour shifts per week for the remainder of the semester.
