Job summary

Global Workforce Partners offers a Medical Assistant Registered Apprenticeship program that pays while you learn. Apprentices work with healthcare employers, combining RTI education with supervised OJT to build clinical, administrative and professional skills.

No prior MA experience is required; earn while you train, with exposure to EHR/EMR systems, phlebotomy, and national compliance standards. This path supports long-term careers in healthcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in pursuing a Medical Assistant career; no prior experience required.
• Willingness to complete RTI coursework and supervised OJT.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidentiality and professional patient service commitment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake: vitals, histories, and required information.
• Enter patient data accurately into EHR/EMR systems.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms for visits.
• Assist with routine clinical procedures under supervision.
• Develop skills in phlebotomy, specimen collection, and medication procedures.
• Follow HIPAA, safety and OSHA procedures.
• Learn medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pharmacology basics.
• Document patient information accurately and confidentially.
• Assist with appointment scheduling and front-office duties.
• Learn insurance verification and basic medical billing/coding concepts.
• Provide professional, compassionate patient service.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other staff.
• Complete RTI coursework and OJT competencies.
• Meet apprenticeship milestones and progress evaluations.
