Bechtel's U.S. Summer Internship Program offers hands-on Mechanical Engineering experience through a structured 10-week summer assignment across Bechtel's GBUs and project sites.

Interns work with industry professionals on meaningful projects, receive professional development, and have opportunities to present outcomes at program end. Open to students pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering with relocation/travel flexibility.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year BS Mechanical Engineering program.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Willingness to relocate and travel domestically and internationally.
• Prior co-op or internship experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to the craft for installation of mechanical equipment.
• Interpret and apply industry codes for installation of rotating and mechanical equipment.
• Interface with engineering and procurement functions.
• Perform constructability reviews.
• Plan and package the work for the craft.
• Verify installed quantities.
• Resolve technical issues with designer of record.
• Manage equipment and materials for plant and indirect construction use.
• Perform inspections and tests to verify quality and maintain quality records.
• Interact with subcontractors.
• Implement standard work processes and procedures.
