Bechtel Corporation invites qualified students to join our U.S. Summer Internship Program as Mechanical Engineering Interns. This 10-week experience, typically mid-June to mid-August, places you in multidisciplinary teams to support plant equipment projects while developing technical and professional skills.

Participants gain real project exposure, mentorship, and networking with leaders across Bechtel, preparing for future opportunities in our global infrastructures and energy sectors.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to the craft for the installation of mechanical equipment
• Interpret and apply industry codes for the installation of rotating and mechanical equipment
• Interface with other functions including engineering and procurement
• Perform constructability reviews
• Plan and package the work for the craft
• Verify installed quantities
• Resolve technical issues with designer of record
• Manage equipment and materials, both permanent plant materials or material used for indirect construction use
• Perform inspections and tests to verify quality and manage quality records
• Interact with subcontractors
• Implement standard work processes and procedures
