Job summary

DLR Group invites applications for a Lighting Design Intern position as part of the Emerging Professional Experience (EPX) program. You will contribute to lighting systems design across diverse project types, collaborating with architects, engineers, and interiors teams.

This paid, full-time internship runs from May 18 to August 6, 2027, with hands-on project work, mentorship, and learning sessions designed to build a strong foundation for your design career at DLR Group.

Qualifications

• At least a third-year student in an accredited Lighting Design, Architecture, or Electrical Engineering program, or similar field.
• Excellent communication, technology and organizational skills.
• Good multitasking skills to easily switch between projects while keeping track of tasks.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• A desire to learn about the architecture/engineering design process.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and engineers as part of our integrated design process.
• Learn the tools, technology and workflow involved with BIM and how today’s designers deliver successful projects.
• Accompany team members on site visits to project sites to see the real-world results of what you do.
• Assist in developing concepts, calculations, modeling, drawing review, and project execution.
• 2D Drafting and 3D Modeling using Autodesk Revit Software.
