Protective Life is seeking a Paid Leave Claims Specialist to manage state-mandated disability and paid family leave claims from intake through administration. You will review documentation, determine eligibility, and communicate decisions to claimants, employers, and providers with accuracy and empathy.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, timely processing, and collaboration across teams in a technology-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state leave laws
• Experience reviewing disability or leave claims
• Ability to evaluate eligibility and benefits payable
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities

• Manage State-M mandated Disability and Paid Family Leave claims within regulatory timeframes
• Review medical, employer, claimant documents to determine eligibility and benefits
• Make timely decisions to approve, pend, or deny claims per regulations and procedures
• Communicate with claimants, policyholders, employers, and providers to obtain necessary information
• Accurately calculate and process applicable benefits and taxes
• Maintain complete claim documentation and correspondence
• Escalate complex cases to subject matter experts or Supervisors
• Meet productivity, quality, and customer service standards
