Job summary

L’Oréal USA, a global leader in beauty, seeks a Communications & Engagement Internship in El Segundo for a 12-month paid program. You will support internal and external communications, events, and partnerships while gaining hands-on experience in our Corporate Affairs & Engagement team.

This full-time paid internship requires a recent graduate (within 12 months) in Communications or related field, with strong writing and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have received a Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months OR must have graduated with a Master’s degree within the last 12 months with no gap more than 5 months in education history.
• Graduated with a degree in Communications, PR, or similar, with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• A sense of curiosity, urgency, and results/service orientation with a high degree of flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness; ability to handle a fast-paced environment and operate with ambiguity.
• Positivity, resourcefulness, teamwork, and initiative are key factors to success.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication (verbal/written), organization, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven abilities in project management, effective time management, meticulous attention to detail, and prioritizing projects.
• Have high level of professionalism; ability to interact with senior-level management with confidence and maturity.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and business information.
• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute communication materials across internal channels including emails, newsletters, intranet, and digital signage.
• Provide internal & external event support from planning to execution, including brainstorming ideas, collaborating with external vendors/partners and key internal stakeholders, and managing timelines & budget.
• Be our team Content Creator, comfortable in front of the camera– take ideas, insights and trends and create content at internal and external events.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and create compelling stories that align with the company's brand and values.
• Maintain meeting agendas, actively participate in internal team meetings, identify next steps, and take ownership of project tracking.
• Lead special projects assigned by manager (ex. Employee Engagement Initiatives, Career Activations, Culture Building, Community Insights, West Coast Partnerships).
• Support the community of brand communications teams on the West Coast by amplifying and supporting their business initiatives.
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and maintaining documentation across the communication, engagement and human resources teams.
