Qualifications

What You Will Learn

The Corporate Affairs & Engagement team at L'Oreal USA is in search of a Junior Associate, Communication & Engagement for a 12-month internship. We are looking for someone who is highly organized and creative to support communication and human resources initiatives and strategic partnerships that contribute to enhancing L'Oreal's reputation on the West Coast, both internally and externally. This role will report to the Director of Communication & Engagement at L'Oreal West and collaborate closely with other members of the US Corporate Affairs & Engagement team, Human Resources team, L'Oreal Business Leaders, L'Oreal North America employees, as well as community and media stakeholders. It is essential for this position to maintain strict confidentiality regarding department and company information.

Based in our El Segundo offices, the Communication & Engagement Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in project management, execute internal and external community initiatives, and contribute to the creation of impactful engagement programs aligned with Our People, Our Consumer, and Our World pillars.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute communication materials across internal channels including emails, newsletters, intranet, and digital signage.
• Provide internal & external event support from planning to execution, including brainstorming ideas, collaborating with external vendors/partners and key internal stakeholders, and managing timelines & budget.
• Be our team Content Creator, comfortable in front of the camera- take ideas, insights and trends and create content at internal and external events.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and create compelling stories that align with the company's brand and values.

• Maintain meeting agendas, actively participate in internal team meetings, identify next steps, and take ownership of project tracking.
• Lead special projects assigned by manager (ex. Employee Engagement Initiatives, Career Activations, Culture Building, Community Insights, West Coast Partnerships).

• Support the community of brand communications teams on the West Coast by amplifying and supporting their business initiatives.

• Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and maintaining documentation across the communication, engagement and human resources teams.

Required Qualifications

• Candidates must have received a Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months OR must have graduated with a Master's degree within the last 12 months with no gap more than 5 months in education history.
• Graduated with a degree in Communications, PR, or similar, with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

• A sense of curiosity, urgency, and results/service orientation with a high degree of flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness; ability to handle a fast-paced environment and operate with ambiguity.
• Positivity, resourcefulness, teamwork, and initiative are key factors to success.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication (verbal/written), organization, presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
