The State of Missouri’s Department of Social Services – Children’s Division is seeking a Paid Intern to support investigations or alternative care. Base location is negotiable between Saline or Lafayette County, and individuals selected may receive a higher rate based on pay differentials, such as shift or time-of-service pay.

The internship involves maintaining case files, supporting families, and contributing to child welfare goals.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Pass criminal background checks and the Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferred.

Responsabilités

• Maintain case files, correspondence, and client confidential information in paper and electronic form.
• Provide paraprofessional services coaching clients to foster a positive family unit aligned with case goals.
• Offer instruction and guidance to parents on child development and parenting techniques.
• Assist with activities of daily living that support home management and life skills.
• Assist in developing parenting skills, stress management, crisis management, and safety networks.
• Provide education for parents on accessing community resources.
• Conduct follow-up contacts as directed.
