Job summary

The State of Missouri’s Department of Social Services – Children’s Division seeks dedicated staff to protect at‑risk children and support families. Greene County base location with opportunities to work across the state and engage with courts and law enforcement.

Key duties include partnering with agencies, assisting families through casework, and advocating for child safety. Requires education in social services and willingness to travel Missouri-wide.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have high school diploma or equivalent with several years of protective services experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field is preferred; substitutions may apply.
• Ability to travel statewide and work with multiple agencies and courts.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with partnering agencies serving children and families.
• Assist families to attain stability through casework, home management, or referrals.
• Interact with law enforcement, juvenile officers, and community organizations on family issues.
• Represent Children’s Division during court hearings and related meetings.
• Respond to needs of children in their homes and community, providing transportation if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
