Job summary

Alleghany Highlands Community Services (AHCS) is offering a paid HR internship to turn classroom learning into real-world experience. You will work directly with the HR team and gain exposure to multiple areas of the employee lifecycle within a mission-driven behavioral health organization.

You will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, training, communications, engagement initiatives, compliance, and special projects while maintaining strict confidentiality and professional

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college/university program in HR, business administration, management, psychology or related field.
• Seeking practical Human Resources experience through an internship.
• Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
• Professional and able to communicate effectively.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Willing to take initiative, ask questions, and learn.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment activities including interview coordination and candidate communication.
• Support onboarding and orientation for new employees.
• Assist with employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation.
• Support training and professional development activities.
• Help prepare HR communications, forms, and employee resources.
• Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
• Assist with HR compliance activities.
• Participate in special HR projects and process-improvement initiatives.
• Gaining exposure to day-to-day HR operations and the full employee lifecycle.
• Handle sensitive employee and organizational information with confidentiality
