Constellation invites motivated Chemical Engineering students to apply for a paid internship at The Geysers power plant in Middletown, CA. Gain real-world experience in process control, lab work, and project development under supervision.

The ten-week program runs June 7–August 13, 2027, with mentorship and opportunities to contribute to plant improvements and data analyses in a dynamic energy environment.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. now and in the future for any company.
• Junior-year engineering science coursework including chemical engineering subjects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools; Excel, Word, PowerPoint; VBA preferred.
• Team player with strong writing and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive on mountain roads.
• Work environment includes office and outdoor plant settings.
• Strong work ethic and initiative.
• Good academic standing.
• 4×10 work schedule (Mon–Thu).

Responsibilities

• Assist Chemical Engineers on Plant Performance, Historical Analysis, and Chemical Lab improvements.
• Learn H2S Abatement system operation and conduct studies at various plant locations.
• Build material balance spreadsheets for a geothermal plant and develop kinetic equations for H2S abatement.
• Support lab personnel with analytical tasks, data entry, and field sampling.
• Operate lab equipment (wet chemistry, atomic absorption, GC, etc.) and analyze geothermal samples.
• Perform site visits with Calpine personnel to learn environments and activities at plants.
