Job summary

Electronic Arts is seeking an enthusiastic Gameplay Engineering Intern to join our team in building player-facing gameplay features for a live-service multiplayer game. You will work under the mentorship of engineers and partner with designers, animators, and cross-disciplinary developers to prototype, implement, and polish mechanics that shape moment-to-moment gameplay.

This internship offers real production experience, mentorship, and exposure to AAA studio workflows in a hybrid California

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/SE or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OO design.
• Proficient in C++ or C with coursework or project work.
• Hands-on game development experience via projects or jams.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and implement player-facing gameplay features.
• Assist in maintaining gameplay systems for live service game.
• Investigate and fix gameplay bugs and edge cases.
• Collaborate with designers, artists, and QA to ship features.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Document new systems and improve tooling for the team.
