Job summary

Sanford Health in the United States is offering an Associate EMT apprenticeship funded by the Minnesota Earn While You Learn Grant. Selected candidates will be hired as Associate EMTs while completing EMT education, earning hourly wages, with tuition fully covered, and no post-program obligation.

Upon licensure, opportunities may include PRN, part-time or full-time EMT positions based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers.

Responsibilities

In an Ambulance setting, attends the 8-week EMT course as administered by Sanford Health Emergency Medical Services Education (SHEMSE).
Under the supervision of a preceptor, utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertain the extent of their injuries or illness.
Communicates with treatment center personnel to provide information about the situation and report patient information to medical staff in a timely and accurate manner, or to receive instructions for further treatment.
Completes Sanford's specific orientation and other issued tasks concurrently with the 8-week EMT course and up until the obtaining of state licensure.
