Job summary

HealthPartners Medical Transportation (HPMT) is offering an EMT Trainee position to provide hands-on training and education to complete EMT certification with the Minnesota EMSRB. The trainee supports non-emergent transport, equipment setup, and documentation while working under supervision.

Tuition reimbursement is provided for those pursuing EMT certification, with departmental sponsorship for training if not enrolled yet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; enrolled in EMT training program or enrollment in department-sponsored EMT training within 6 months of hire.
• Must remain enrolled as a student in an EMT training program and progress towards graduation as a certified EMT or awaiting MN EMSRB certification.
• Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Meet MN DOT STS Driver requirements: clean driving record and pass DOT physical; complete MN DOT STS Driver Training within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and set up BLS ambulance and wheelchair van equipment.
• Operate department vehicles and provide non-emergent medical transportation services per MN DOT STS authority.
• Assist in the delivery of Basic Life Support services under the direction of an EMT/Lead EMT.
• Document services provided to patients in the approved ePCR system.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
