Job summary

Global Medical Response (AMR) offers an EMS Student EMT Academy in Mississippi where you can earn a paycheck while learning to become an EMT. The program qualifies you to take the National Registry exam and become licensed, with a full-time EMT position upon successful completion.

The right candidate is at least 18, has a HS diploma or GED, can pass health screenings and background checks, holds a valid state driver’s license, and commits to the stated pre-employment process.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Pre-employment screening including motor vehicle and criminal background checks, drug testing, academic/cognitive screening (Fisdap), and a physical agility test.

Responsibilities

• Drives an emergency vehicle to and from calls to transport patient(s) in a safe and prudent manner.
• Assists in patient handling and transport using basic life support equipment.
• Documents information required by GMR and local/state medical control.
• Maintains cleanliness and operational readiness of equipment and vehicles.
• Participates in training and passes required state licensure exams upon academy completion.
