Job summary

Van Wall Equipment offers a paid 4-month Green Iron Academy to transition into an Agricultural Equipment Diesel Technician career. The program provides hands-on training and John Deere certification, with eventual placement at a sponsoring Van Wall dealership location after graduation.

Training occurs at our Boone, IA facilities and may base out of multiple Iowa locations including Knoxville, Indianola, Oskaloosa, and Albia. Successful participants join full-time roles afterward.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time work experience in a diesel/mechanical field or related trade.
• High School Diploma or GED required; further training preferred but not required.
• Desire a long-term career as an Agricultural Equipment Diesel Technician on John Deere products.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom training, manufacturer-led programs, and dealership development opportunities.
• Learn from instructors and mentors to gain hands-on equipment service experience.
• Complete John Deere University online courses and certification requirements.
• Develop knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and precision agriculture tech.
