Job summary
Van Wall Equipment offers a Green Iron Academy, a paid 4-month hands-on development program for mechanically inclined individuals transitioning into a Diesel Technician career. Trainees will gain John Deere certified technician capabilities and move into a full-time role at a sponsoring Van Wall Dealership location after completion.
Participants train in classroom and manufacturer-led settings at select Iowa locations, with housing provided and structured mentorship to support growth and
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; willingness to pursue technical training.
- Mechanical interest with desire for long-term agricultural equipment career.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in classroom and manufacturer-led training at the Boone training facility.
- Gain hands-on experience in equipment service and repair under supervision.
- Complete John Deere University courses and certification requirements.
- Develop knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and precision agriculture tech.
- Use John Deere manuals and diagnostic tools to support service tasks.
