Job summary

IMEG Corporation offers a summer 2027 Controls Intern position in Omaha, NE, supporting engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of control systems during a 10–12 week program. You will work with experienced engineers, producing control documents and coordinating with multiple disciplines while staying within project budgets and client expectations.

The role emphasizes hands-on project work, mentorship, and a path to full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong interest in design consulting and building systems.
• Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Produce control documents such as IO lists, connection schedules, loop drawings, and schematics.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier disciplines.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while tracking progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job-site observations as required by the contract services agreement.
