Job summary

IMEG Corporation is seeking a Controls Intern for a 10-12 week summer program in Urbandale, IA. The internship offers hands-on experience in control systems design, documentation, and coordination under experienced engineers and consultants.

The role focuses on building performance, BAS, controls programming, and commissioning within Strategic Growth Services. The program provides a mentor-led, paid internship with potential for full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two years completed toward a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical software.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems per code and IMEG standards.
• Produce control documents such as IO lists, connection schedules, loop drawings, schematics.
• Support project progress, coordinate with other disciplines and teams.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions; monitor progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information; conduct periodic job-site observations as required.
