Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Controls Intern in Omaha, NE for a 10-12 week summer internship. You will support engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of control systems alongside experienced engineers, producing control documents and coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Qualifications include 2+ years toward a BS in Electrical Engineering, exposure to AutoCAD Electrical, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
• Strong interest in design consulting
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
• Assist with producing control documents such as IO list, connection schedule, loop drawings, and schematics
• Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files
• Assist with coordinating design and schedules with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
• Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services as required by the contract services agreement
