Job summary

IMEG Corporation offers a summer 2027 Controls Intern position in Omaha, NE, supporting engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of control systems during a 10–12 week program. Qualifications

  • Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems per code and IMEG standards.
  • Produce control documents such as IO lists, connection schedules, loop drawings, and schematics.
  • Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation.
  • Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier disciplines.
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while tracking progress.
  • Review project documents for accuracy before final checks.
  • Prepare and issue addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job-site observations as required by the contract services agreement.

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities.

IMEG is hiring a Controls Intern in Omaha, NE to support engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of control systems. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll work closely with experienced engineers and consultants while gaining hands-on experience with real project work.

In this role, you'll help produce control documents, coordinate with other disciplines, document design decisions, and support project progress while working within the project's monetary budget and client expectations. You'll contribute to work connected to building performance, controls, and commissioning implementation within Strategic Growth Services.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards

What You'll Bring
Education
  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Previous exposure to AutoCAD Electrical software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
