Job summary

Alluvion Health in Choteau, MT is seeking an Apprentice Medical Assistant. You’ll be paid to learn while you build hands-on healthcare experience and work toward the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.

As a full-time apprentice you’ll be paid for 40 hours per week: 30 hands-on hours and 10 hours of education and training. You may earn apprenticeship credit for prior experience and advance from Patient Access to Medical Assistant, qualifying for CCMA after completing 2,000

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn EMR systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Ability to adapt to a busy healthcare environment and changing priorities.
• Ability to successfully pass required background screening.
• No Medical Assistant certification is required to begin the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Learn Patient Access duties: greet patients, answer calls, collect demographics and insurance information, verify data.
• Use the electronic medical record system and assist with registrations.
• Support collecting co-pays and payments; connect patients with Care Coordinators.
• Move into Medical Assistant duties: provide direct patient care, prepare patients for visits, record vitals.
• Maintain exam rooms, stock, and clinic supplies; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Participate in outreach and education as part of the apprenticeship.
