Job summary

H&R Block offers an 11-week Embark Summer Internship for students studying Finance and Accounting. The program runs May 17, 2027 – July 30, 2027 at our Kansas City headquarters in the Power & Light District.

Interns gain real-world experience with access to amenities including an onsite Starbucks, dining hall, fitness center, and free parking. Highlights include $25/hour compensation, PTO during Reboot Week, and a housing stipend for those far from KC.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline with a 3.0+ GPA.
• Ability to work in a diverse team and independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Quick learner and adaptable to new software.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze financial data for accounting projects and reporting.
• Assist with forecasting, financial reporting, and processes.
• Research technical accounting and financial reporting matters.
• Support preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Assist with timely preparation and review of financial reports.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams on special projects.
• Interns receive guidance and mentoring while working independently.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

GPA 3.0 or above

Pursuing degree in Information Accounting, Finance, Economics
