Our dedicated team supports patients every step of the way.
We are seeking a compassionate Per-Diem PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing egg retrieval and frozen embryo transfer procedures. This role is essential to ensuring patient safety, comfort, and a smooth recovery process. The PACU RN will work closely with physicians and the broader clinical team in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. This position reports directly to the Clinical Operations Manager and Clinical Operations Director.
Responsibilities
· Educate patients on procedures, review pre- and post-operative instructions, and obtain consent.
· Adhere and execute physician orders, manage medication, and monitor patient pain levels.
· Assist in monitoring clinic, PACU/OR, and procedures; including obtaining vital signs, administering injections and IVs, and monitoring patients post-anesthesia.
· Act as a liaison between patients and physicians, providing compassionate support and promptly implementing emergency procedures in response to patient emergencies.
· Collaborate with physician, clinical, embryology, and billing staff to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
· Assist in transporting patients via bed, stretcher, table, and wheelchair as needed.
· Collect, prepare, and handle blood, urine, semen, and tissue samples for testing.
· Review and maintain accurate medical records, including charting patient progress.
· Maintain cleanliness, sterilize instruments, stock rooms, and prepare treatment areas for patient use.
· Correspond with patients via phone, portal, and email to provide updates and instructions.
· Ensure compliance with all protocols and regulations.
· Participates in staff training for staff within same job class or lower.
· Manage inventory as necessary and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· LVN or RN with active certification/licensure.
· Minimum of two years’ professional experience in clinical setting.
· Previous experience in PACU/OR setting.
· Active ACLS/BLS/CPR Certification.
