Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a part-time Perioperative/OR nursing professional to join our team. The role emphasizes independent nursing practice, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation within a perioperative setting.

Requirements include BSN preferred, RN license in TX or compact, BLS, and ideally ACLS/PALS. New nurses receive orientation within 30 days and may participate in perioperative residency programs as applicable.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• RN license in TX or compact license.
• BLS required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred per policy.
• 1 year of related nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients and families; assess learning needs and provide resources.
• Delegate tasks as appropriate to other care providers to manage the clinical situation.
