Job summary

Tidelands Health in Murrells Inlet, SC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the PACU to deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care. This full-time, day-shift role requires strong patient assessment, timely updates to medical records, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure safe recovery.

Ideal candidates hold ADN with RN licensure in SC, with PACU/critical care experience preferred; BSN/MSN are welcome. BLS within 30 days; ACLS preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
• Measure and record patients' vital signs.
• Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
• Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
• Update charts, patient files, and medical records.
• Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitate timely specialized interventions.
• Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
• Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
