Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide high-quality nursing care after surgery. You will monitor patients’ consciousness, vital signs, and response to anesthesia, manage pain and nausea, and keep accurate records while collaborating with the surgical and medical teams.

Required ADN with RN licensure; BSN/MSN preferred. Excellent communication with patients and families is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
• Measure and record patients' vital signs.
• Closely observe patients for signs of anesthesia side effects.
• Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms.
• Update charts and medical records.
• Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative care.
• Provide comfort to distressed post-operative patients and families.
• Educate patients and families on post-surgery care.
